A video showing a group of more than 40 people rescuing a teenager trapped under a car by lifting the vehicle off him has received overwhelming praise online.
The rescuers gathered at the scene of a car accident within 30 seconds of it occurring in Southwest China's Chongqing.
The accident happened on Xianshan Street in Chongqing's Bishan district on the afternoon of June 6. A 15-year-old boy, Xiao Yang, was pinned under the car, which weighed about 1 metric ton.
Quickly, over 40 strangers rushed to gather around the vehicle and lifted it from the injured teen within half a minute. Xiao was sent to a hospital as soon as possible.
According to local media, Xiao's condition is stable.
On June 8, the local government sent out notices seeking the rescuers.
"I didn't give it too much thought, it was extremely urgent," Wang Weiping, one of the rescuers, said. "We left after seeing the injured (teen) was sent to the hospital."
"Thanks to the good-hearted, I wasn't crushed under the car for too long! Or else my injury would be much more serious," Xiao says, who added he hopes to say, "thank you", in person to all those who helped save him after he is discharged from the hospital.
